So Vandrdoes is legit. I stand absolutely corrected. Thought he was all hype like McCarthey was last year.
Don't know what those guys are looking at back there, but Jalen has been the best cornerback easily. Hawkins has been in the top 4 as well.
Winning the academic award in the SEC is sort of like winning the special olympics. Even if you win, you are still a retard.
I was thinking the same thing. I really hope we can pull a rabbit out of the hat. Him and Bigelow really cold be an exciting front to add to our core. Im crossing my fingers on him!!!!!! Im from Monrovia saw a lot of McCarthy thought he was a gentle giant!
Always wanted to be a procrastinator but never got around to it.
Totally agree on McCarthy. I saw Ellis play in person against South Pasadena. He did nothing that evening to impress me. Great looking on the hoof but it didn't seem to translate into being a great player. Maybe UCLA can awake the sleeping giant inside of him.
Different sites put all see different things. This happens every year.
But of course you know this already.
At my signal, unleash hell.
Vanderdoes is closer to Steve Emtman than he is Ellis McCarthy
except Emtman was not as highly regarded coming out of HS
You are probably too young to remember him, but he was a holy terror in college at UW and First player drafted his year
Tore up both knees in the NFL and is considered, wrongly as a bust, but he was the most dominant interior lineman to play in college since Leroy Selman and I have seen no one since him as good
IMO EV has that kind of potential
He will require a double team every time he steps on the field
You cannot teach the kind of upper body strength he has and you cant really lift your way to it
He will be insane by the tine he us a junior
I know some

I hope I'm wrong, but IMO Vanderdoes sounds like he's gone. He reminds me of Tony Jefferson a few years ago who committed to us early on, but decommitted after he took a few visits as he fell in love with every school he took an OV to.
I think this is the telling quote in an interview from yesterday:
"I decommitted because all the reasons why I committed to USC when I took my official visits to other places (UCLA and Washington) I saw the same exact stuff there, so it was one of those things that I was starting to like other schools also that I visited."
He's equating his USC OV with Washington and UCLA??? Really? He also seems to be talking up ND in the interview also and he hasn't even visited South Bend yet. I really don't get how recruits like him and Redfield can talk up Notre Dame academics without holding us in a similar regard. USC is a tremendous academic institution and an education here is a great opportunity for life post-football. Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Vanderdoes follow Redfield to South Bend after his official visit next week. The duo of him and Bigelow was one that I believed was really going to turn around this defense. I know we've struggled with the spread going back to PC's final seasons, but like we saw in the 2011 BCS title game the best way to negate the spread is with penetration up the middle. Hopefully, we can land A'shawn Robinson to compliment Bigelow, but I truly believe Eddie was a whole other caliber of player. It's going to be scary to have to play against him if he lands elsewhere in the Pac 12 or ND. Things don't sound positive at the moment, but maybe Coach O can work his magic and set him straight.

Was that sarcasm or what? Watch some film, he is more than legit and to most O-linemen he will be known as "The Truth"!
That was worth a duplicate. Agree 100% on Eddie. Man I hope we can bring him back in.
Eddie = JJ Watt
Eddie was asked in a chat how he likes Kenny Bigelow,
and he said he can definitely see him self playing next to him for years, so we can't rule anything out, he had good things to say about those four schools SC, UCLA, ND, AL, but he also only mentions one coach by name: Orgeron. I really believe the guy when he says he wants to make sure he's making the right choice and of course hopefully he ends up with SC. how awesome would it see for him and Kenny to play together, tear it up at SC and 4 years later end up being first rounders in the draft, give the guy a chance.
this recruiting game is not for the faint of heart.
Emtman was a name that popped into my head when I watched his tape, but the better comparison to me is a bigger Chris Zorich (ND under Holtz/Chicago Bears).
Winning winners who win > whining whiners who whine.
there is uncertainty at USC right now...with the DC and rumors being circulated by other coaching staffs about Ogeron. Plus, USC is the only school that EV is looking at that runs a 4-3 defense. I have read that CLK wants a coordinator who can run both styles of defenses and one that works well with Ogeron. If CLK can get him into the fold before the big recruiting weekend of the 18th, I think we will be fine.
I do worry about him going to ND the week prior. ND has the mystical quality as the birthplace of football. I have seen many California stud high school players get caught up in the hype and never be heard from again. On a fully paid weekend, you can really put lipstick on a pig and make the place look great. Take the 10 decent looking women from Holy Cross and ND, throw a party and make ND seems like a place where a CA kid could spend 4 years. I hope we can get the DC in line before the weekend of the 11th to somehow talk EV into not going on an OV.

JJ Watt of the Texans....
I don't really see the resemblance. Watt is 6'5" and has a nact for swatting balls down (he leads the NFL in pass deflections, a stat usually dominated by defensive backs). EVD, by comparison, is about 6'1" and doesn't posses Watt's quickness or "swatting skills."
So let me get this right,we could possibly sign or are in the hunt to have 3 of the 4 best D-Linemen at the AA game Wow!!!!!!
No Excuses,'' 11 x National Campions anyday, anytime ,anywhere.
Jefferson decommitted because of Pete Carroll
