After running a 4.8 at the combine he told ESPN he was disappointed because he was routinely running 4.6 in training and often 4.5s.
I think he is a pathological liar.
Join the fight for YOUR liberty!
the 4.5s were Lennay handheld times
Not that I disagree with you, but don't athletes generally exaggerate their pre-combine times?
It'll probably come out, that back in South Bend, he was running 10 yards really fast and then just multiplying by 4.
Teo is the most over-rated / over-hyped linebacker in CFB history...hands down!
"It's what a brother would do for another brother"
I think I hear an echo....
Welcome back Lady
Say what you want about Manti, but he brought HOT out of hiding. Welcome back Miss HOTtie!
Man, that's all it took! A little Te'o Truth Bashing! Tough audience. Welcome back honey.
Maybe they grew the turf out at the combine to slow down the Notre dame players blazing speed.
Combine times are way different than stopwatch times
He didn't do the bench press, so he probably told everybody he can do 40 reps.

40 reps of 225 WITH his g/f sitting on the bar.
Cry Havoc; and let slip the dogs of war!
Looking at the video of his 40, there's no way that guy has run sub-4.6 in the last 12 months. Period.
Manti's time was 20th of the 26 LBers at the combine. His stock is dropping like a rock. In other news the Honey Badger ran a 4.43 40. I guess he is looking pretty impressive as well. Desmond Trufant out of WA ran a 4.38.
He needs to give his lying ability to Sam Montgomery who told scouts “You know, some weeks when we didn’t have to play the harder teams, there were some times when effort was not needed."
Meaning he won't play hard until its a contract year.
You are correct, sir!
I know bench press doesn't mean much when it comes to actually playing football, but 4 reps @ 225 is pretty pathetic for Mathieu at nearly 190 pounds.
Also, re: 40 times. Steve Williams' NFL Network time was 4.25, which actually turned into 4.42 officially. He looked fast and both times are good, it's just kind of funny how big of a difference the times were.
reminds me of Taylor Mays who ran a ridiculous time and they changed it to a 4.4 or something like that. also, bench press doesn't mean as much for dbs as they do for linemen or linebackers. i think honey badger won't get past the 3rd round.
Hoping Pete grabs the honey badger as a project in the 3rd or 4th. Good value imo.
PC needs another big receiver and a good pass rusher. Marcus Trufant is getting old and the Honey Badger might be a good replacement.
That's true. Pete has a ton of picks and not much space on the roster.. so I'd like to see him trading up. Always exciting to see what he does in the draft
Guess I'll stick around.
FIGHT ON! FOREVER!
