Though not as bad as PSU, ND covered up a story to protect the FB program.
ND knew this story was fake based on their statement on Dec 26th and allowed the media and other news organizations to continue to run with it.
For this? No. The attempts to cover up the rape was a much bigger deal. If they get hit for anything, it should be that.
USC 2013-2014 All Sports Head-to-Head Record: 257-112-2 (0.695)
My USC Football Attendance Streak (Home and Away): 48
Notre Dame is going to get reemed in the courty of public opinion over this one.
The nd ad admitted that te'o had an agent before the bcs title game.
What? Where did you find that?
Honestly....what are they going to investigate? That either Teo was a fraud for 'personal' gain, or he's without question, the dumbest athlete EVER?
At this point, the only thing they have on him is masturbating to this....
the embarrassment is enough.
I now find myself wondering whether or not Teo ever really had a grandmother.
"It's what a brother would do for another brother"
yep he did...spoke to the parents and "engaged with Manti's future representation" on the 5th of January in Miami...
Wow u think manti did it on propose?? Lol what would he gain out of it publicity?? He was one of the most recognized LB his JR yr. I just dont see he has to much to lose if he did it on purpose.
Can we even be sure that Manti exists? I don't remember seeing him in the Championship game..
I think he totally ran with it but is now trying to bullshit his way out of it. Can't bullshit a bullshitter.
You’re kidding, right?
With the hundreds of threads, and thousands upon thousands of posts delineating the better than not chance that this was fabricated by Teo, among other accomplices, not to mention every national media reporting outlet, network and digitally-based, too, I find it nearly impossible for anyone to not think that there is an inordinate measure of impropriety here with respect to facts, timelines and obvious bullshit that has made this the story the bizzaro caper it screams for the rest of us to digest.
Well he gained large national attention(outside of football, even. My stepmother was talking to people about his story) around when he tragically lost two of what we believed to be very important parts of his life. He became more than a great linebacker but the pure embodiment of a statue of moral character. He was larer than football. it was one of the greatest sports stories in a long, long time. To say he didn't gain pub off of it is crazy.
"Lennay Kekua's death resonated across the college football landscape—especially at Notre Dame, where the community immediately embraced her as a fallen sister. Charity funds were started, and donations poured into foundations dedicated to leukemia research. More than $3,000 has been pledged in one IndieGogo campaign raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society."
I'm OK donating to leukemia research, but not when the reason I was persuaded to donate was a complete hoax. I'm sure there will be verification that these monies actually made it to the correct non-profit organizations.
