Exactly. During the PC era, are "go to" guys were the fullback and the TE's. We need to get these positions back into the mix this Fall.
I think we were all hoping the current player at FB would be the second coming of Stanley Havili. Those are some pretty big shoes to fill though, and last year it was very apparent. That wheel route Stanley used to run was a slam dunk for a TD inside the 25 yd line.
Never mind defections

They can't take my "Fight On!"
I've been a lane hater since jump. I never liked him as a head coach. Even with my raiders.
I have trouble figuring out why there are "lane lovers" out there. If you know the coaches we had at USC, u soon see lk ain't even close.
Believe it or not, I totally agree. Lane is not John McKay. But please don't label Troans like me "Lane Lovers." We are not. We are accepting the situation and rolling with it. I want to go 13-0 and if that means giving Lane a few years of job security, so be it. If another sub-par season means the ax, well, so be it. We're just not going to change anything in the HC position now. It's like whether you voted for Obama or Romney. You gonnna root for Obama to fail now and lose your 401k in thhe process? I doubt it.
You had me until you mentioned the Raiiders. Lifelong Charger fan. I have a dart board with Dave Casper's picture on it. Cheater!
Yes, Lane has a plan and the plan is to take the focus off of him and blame anyone else but the head coach for USC's problems this past year. In some cases making a few changes will positively affect a football program. In this case it will only serve to put a little band aid on a much bigger wound.
That's definitely one way to look at it. If the changes being made originated from that type of motivation, we're definitely in a sad state.
Let's hope the changes are being made for the right reasons which are to not repeat the mistakes from last season. Don't you see the change at the DC position as being positive? Though there has been no comment or hire as of yet, I think most of us believe we will be getting an upgrade to the OC position. Kiffin over thought (or under thought) the no tackling in practice strategy. I didn't hear anyone screaming last Spring about it. It seemed to make a bit of sense. Those who are screaming now seem a bit disengenuous. Regardless, a mistake was made and Kiffin is set on not repeating it.
