He is making some tough changes , are we going to lose our rb's in this class ? I would think he has coaches lined up already or at least has some in mind that can make us a better team.I am a big KP fan , lead the Trojans in recruiting great classes , there has to be a good reason. We can not lose old great Trojan from this staff.I get the feeling having Clancy P on staff he let LK know how easy The Trojans were to defense or how predictable our offense is , changes are needed , who knows ?
SC was one of the only teams that has consistently put up points on Cal, since Lane has been back at SC. Then again, I'm sure he had info on some tendencies. Maybe his players just couldn't do what was needed.

I read somewhere that Ty I. was told prior to signing. If true that would lead me to believe Lane has a plan or at least a coach lined up to coach rbs.
Man, it's pretty sad when we can just so easily assume that's the case.

Join the fight for YOUR liberty!
He had a plan that turned USC into the softest team in school history. He and his father accomplished his goal.
All these Lane hater must have loved him in 2011 though
Fair weather much......
"If this was a prize fight they'd call it off"- F ND!
It's not about being fair weathered. Lane improved drastically from 2010-2011. We applauded him. Progress deserves commendation.
Lane regressed - drastically from 2011-2012 - and he turned in his worst performance during his tenure at USC. What would you have us do? Be happy and supportive of that performance and lack of leadership?
Honestly, we're a results-orientated fan base. Like any other fan base. We applaud good results and we condemn bad results. How hard is that to understand? It's perfectly
logical and reasonable.
The real issue is that we werent that good in 2011, MB was just playing on fire down the stretch and was completing passes in about 3 inch windows. in 2012 we looked worse than we actually were bc MB was now missing throws by 3 inches that ended up in the hands of opposing players, and after his injury the team basically quit. I really think people are underestimating how devastating the sanctions were to us. Additionally, PC basically missed badly on his last two recruiting cycles as we unluckily signed a lot of busts. Im not arguing with keeping Kiffin, what im saying is that this isnt a ferrari anymore. This is now a 10 year old Ferrari whose retail value is now the equivalent of BMW. Before PC arrived, we had gone through over 10 years of football darkness. Heck really close to 20 years. I am not sure we could hire a big time coach right now.
Fingayz of da decadez be poppin while fools be gettin fiyad!!!
Fixed it for you.

So we should just support trash? You're watching the man turn a Ferrari into a Pinto and you're ok with that?
So, one season of regression and he should be fired? Huh? McKay goes 6-4-1 in 1970 and 1971. Should he have been fired? And no, I'm not saying Lane Kiffin is John Fucking Mckay.
CJFM meet CLFK.
OMG!!!!! Blasphemy!!!!! Matt Barkley underperformed????
I don't think people understand how important Matt Kalil was in 2011 and how devastating it was that he left. If I was Barkley, there is now way I would have come back without him. Then you lose Khaled Holmes this year and never really get him back. Was there a game this year that we said, "Barkley just put the team on his back"? A pocket passer without his "blindside" and without a healthy center has no chance. Focus too much on getting the ball to Marquis? We had NO OTHER OPTION.
No I am not. But what im telling you is that this isnt a ferrari anymore. The sanctions and pcs last two classes basically turned it into a 3 series bmw. You can make the argument that Lane is driving the 3 series into the toilet but dont pretend that Nick Saban or Urban Meyer would take this job over their respective ones right now. Sanctions are supposed to ruin your program. thats the point of them. I am arguing that pretending that sanctions havent devastated this program isnt conducive to how to fix it in the long term.
It will be at least 1 if not 2 or 3 more years for us to finally be able to hit full classes in recruiting on a year by year basses and to get rid of the loopsided nature of our recruiting classes. At that point, you might be able to hire a big time coach, but not now. The question is if you prefer to wait out Lane or to hire an unknown commodity, second level coach, or nfl burnout.
Yeah that Robert Woods kid had stone hands
Same applies(ed) to basketball. Kiffin can recruit and that's enough of a reason to keep him during the sanctions. Why are people thinking we can win a NC with a 75 schollie limit? Win a Pac-12 Championship? Are you frickin' kidding me? Oh wait. We are SC. We're teflon. Nothing will defeat us.
The above being stated, we do have enough talent and with the a good OC hire to go 6-0 before South Bend. I will be disappointed if that's not where we are. The rest of the season is all about depth and injuries. Hoping we get lucky. Cross your fingers.
I shouldn't be laughing, but so far I can't find enough evidence to disagree with you. His hand has been crawling up his sleeve for a loooong time. How long is this guy's sleeve anyway? Is he going to come out with the ace anytime soon?
you work hard, you get what you deserve...don't stand there with your hand out
And suddenly you have no one playing fullback who can catch a pass. Sort of puts a crimp in the play book.
