Saturday was the 1 year anniversary of the passing of our beloved Loel Schrader
I miss him every single day and numerous times a day I ruminate on what he would have thought, said or written about a myriad of events and topics
He was the heart and soul of this board, and we are all better people and better Trojans because we had him in our lives
Let's all dedicate a few minutes tonight to reminiscing or just meditating on what he meant to us and more importantly to his family
And let's all send out nice vibes to his bride, Lois and his boy Scotty

Peace to the Schrader family ...
Prayers for peace to the Schrader family.
I wonder what Loel would have written about the Teo situation?? Just a random thought....
I truly believe that after all the information was made available, he would have been exceedingly kind and forgiving towards the kid.
Loel was fierce when it came to defending the poor and downtrodden, but he didnt have a mean spirited bone in his body
He didnt suffer fools or asshats gracefully either

I feel incredibly fortunate to have joined 247 when Loel was posting frequently... May he rest in peace. Blessings to you and your family, Scott.
Peace and love Scott. He's missed for sure bro.
I love you Scott. What wonderful memories you have, and the knowledge your daddy was so loved and respected.
We all cherish the time we had him with us, the wonderful stories...what a great man he was, a great Trojan.

Hard to believe it's been a year.
Thanks for the reminder, Blem.
Loel is a Trojan Legend!
Hugs and comfort to you Scott - I'm sure today was bittersweet for you... Cherishing his memory, but missing him oh so much...
I never had the opprtunity to meet him,but I heard the wonderful storylines about his concern for the downtrodden. That alone makes him a never forgotten hero. RIP Loel.
Rest in peace Loel. It's very disappointing to me that we never met, but, I feel very fortunate that I got to know him a bit while following Scott around the internet. So anyway, Scott, I love you and your family. I know we all do and I know you know that. I also love this board for being one big family. Blem, awesome job. Once again, we all miss you Loel!
Since I have been following recruiting and getting really involved with USC football within the last year, I never had the privilege to see Loel assessment on USC, recruiting, anything in general that he wrote about (not sure exactly what he covered). However, based on the great people on this forum that express the love they could feel from Loel and his articles he sounded like a great man who I would of enjoyed listening too very much on these boards. Based on the amazing work and effort Scott has done this past year has allowed me to gain an unbelievable amount of respect and I plan on being on this board for along time due to the family feel that is felt here. I give Scott, Loel, and the rest of the Schrader a big Fight On!!!! and RIP Loel.
Thank you all for your kind and thoughtful remembrances.
Sorry to be late to the party. This IS a celebration of the life of Loel Schrader, isn't it? I tried to post earlier but the words wouldn't come. We all miss Loel, the Schrader family most of all. So, again, condolences, but happy memories to you all for the life that was.
It's not just the Schraders because every time that I meet a guy like Loel, I am reminded of what our contemporary society has lost. He was a rare example of a rare species in contemporary society, "a true gentleman". I can only hope to learn from his example, but sadly it is just a hope.
Wayne, what a wonderful surprise to see you here
Hope your " Retirement" is turning out the way you and your wife envisioned it
Fight On and Roll Tide
Spoke to Scott the actual day of the anniversary and I could tell it was a very difficult day for him and his family. It's not easy losing a parent, particularly when it's such a high-caliber human being, which Loel was.
Thoughts and prayers to the Schraders. We're here for you guys!

May his spirit always fill your home with peace, joy and love.
Remember he is always with you and that no one can take away SS.
He has done well and the torch he has passed along to you is a never ending beacon of light that we, all Trojans fans are able to enjoy because of him. Fight On Loel!

I think Loel would have been kind to Teo as the mistakes of youth, but he might have had different thoughts on Brian Teo, Notre Dame and ESPIN.
I miss Loel. I still have messages he sent me in my inbox and I keep , especially the one where he told me he was gonna give me a left hook. He always had to remind me that he would kick my ass if needed. It was kind of cool actually. Scott just calls me an asshat instead.
Winning the academic award in the SEC is sort of like winning the special olympics. Even if you win, you are still a retard.
