Of course, Darrell Green was the fastest man in the NFL for years. He had elite speed and was physical at stopping the run at the line of scrimmage. Green also played in an era where 300 pound linemen were rare, and most of the top receivers were 6'2" or shorter and under 195 pounds. That is not the case anymore. There may only be one Megatron, but there is no shortage of 6'3", 210+ pound receivers.
I am not knocking Robey. He will get his chance in the NFL. I am just comparing him to other draft picks in effort to gauge what his NFL evaluation will look like. The difference between (i) 165 pounds and a 4.5 40 and (ii) 185 pounds and a 4.3 40 is the difference between going undrafted and being a 1st or 2nd round pick. Robey is somewhere in the middle of those ranges.

Maybe it could translate, “I have a feeling the evals won’t come back as favorably as I’d hoped...”
I hope he stays, but I’m just saying...
Who'd you hear that from? Not buying it.
I do think Robey will leave, however.
Brandon Flowers is listed as 5'9 187 on espn and was drafted in the second round in'08 and the dude can hold his own. No way does robey fall past the 4th round this year if he declares. But I'd bet he goes in the third or maybe late 2nd
Uh, I didn't know Robey leaving early was even a question.
USC CB Nickell Robey said he will return to school for his senior year if he receives anything less than a 2nd-round grade on his evaluation

How do we get ahold of the NFL draft evaluators? I'll slip them a hundo to rate Nickell as a 3rd rounder...
This would be great, it would put a less pressure on Seymour to be the man right way, I figure he'll be breaking out next season. Then I'm thinking either Torin Harris steps up as the nickel corner or Ramsey takes that spot. Seymour and Ramsey/Harris on the outside with Robey lined up over slot in the nickel.
Really hope the new DC also moves back to a pro-style defense that's prototypically sized, meaning Bailey to SS and letting Shaw and Wright battle it out at FS.
Junior cornerback Nickell Robey is expecting to receive his pre-draft evaluation back from the NFL any day now, and he’s also planning on placing a lot of value in it regarding his decision whether to return for his senior season at USC.
“It’s pretty important to me, because NFL scouts took the time out to watch my film and really concentrate on what I need to get done,” Robey said. “The more information I get as far as my ability at the next level, it’s going to better my decision.”
He even has an exact round grade and corresponding decision in mind. If the NFL Draft Advisory Board tells Robey they expect him to be a third-round selection, he’ll come back to school, he said.
So only a first- or second-round grade will lead him to the NFL.
“Nothing less than that,” Robey said.
if that's the case IMO he's coming back we can use his leadership back there in the secondary.
