DuckTerritory called... They want their stupid back.
Fides Quaerens Intellectum
A.) He wouldn't be a freshman. B.) In 2003, the Trojans won a share of the title after having lost a Heisman WINNING quarterback.
Freshman? You think Browne will start?
And yes, look at the trenches. They should be loaded next year.
Ok, sophomore but still, just seems strange that you'd think the quarterback position would be improving after losing a Heisman finalist.
The comparison to Oregon thinking they will be better with Mariota than Thomas is much different. As many things as Thomas did well he had a lot of shortcomings. He wasn't a Heisman caliber qb. Mariota is.
Perhaps the improvements on the line and other positions will be enough to overcome losing Barkley. Or maybe the kid will be even better.
I love Mariota, but he is a heisman caliber qb after playing three nobodies, but Max Wittek, who is the same age, might as well be a frosh. Amirite?
Barkley running for his life is a below average qb with no running game. Wittek with a great line and great running game would perform better than barkley. This is all based on a 3 game snap shot to start the season.
Yes it will!
I'm not saying USC will not win a title, but the QB spot will be a big downgrade. Big.
Care to make it interesting?
Not saying he is now but he has the talent to be, unlike Darron Thomas.
I think Wittek has a better arm than Barkley.
