Cry Havoc; and let slip the dogs of war!
I want a kid to think in his mind of his committing like accepting a proposal. Yes, you still have to wait for the wedding day and signing the marriage license but once you're engaged that's it. You don't date, you don't look at other people. When you get engaged you have stated your desire to spend the rest of your life with that person. You're not married yet, but you might as well be. The remainder of your time should be spent preparing for the wedding, not screwing around with other people.
Instead kids treat it like someone passing a note to them in school asking "Do you like me? Yes or No." When they commit all they're doing is checking yes. But they continue to look around because that yes means nothing.
I have to agree here. He waited until the dead period like a *ussy. Man up and decommit and explore your options. Don't save your spot when we are under sanctions and decommit when it's too late for us to do anything about it. I always advocate to wait until we know what has happened and why before making any comments. Well, we know what has happened and we know why and considering our circumstances, it's just not right to flip at this point in the process. Say what you will but at least EVD, Hatcher, Fitts, etc gave ample warning that they needed to back off of their commitments.
I would guess there's almost no chance that we sign a full class at this point.

Sorry, but the coaches should have had back up plans in works for weeks give all the smoke of a decommitment. When you fire your DC and DB coach and the commit is acting torn, you are failing as a coach if you aren't developing true back up plans.
I think Jalen was trying to do us a favor by not decommitting earlier. If he truly was torn, but thought there was a very chance he remained at USC, a decommitment would have caused more negative momentum.
I agree but it's a bit hard when your options B (and C) are already signed and sealed to other schools with very few prospects of opting out and being classified as a possible replacement recruit. (Foreman/ Kelly/ etc.)
We are potentially going to fall 5 recruits short of the limit. A back up CB or 3rd CB in the class should have been a priority a long time ago.
Since the beginning of the season, LK has done very little right and a lot wrong when it comes to running the USC program.

“Close tax loopholes that allow some of the truly wealthy to avoid paying their fair share,” Reagan vowed.
