It's the dead period. The coaches can't do jack shit about a backup plan now.
What an ass.
And that's why this decommit feels like a stab in the back.
Maybe recruits aren't thinking about these kind of things, but if you're going to flip on a school that you've been committed to for so long, at least do them the favor of getting out early enough that they aren't left high and dry.
As someone said above, at least EV gave the coaches to do time for damage control.
It almost feels like he did it on purpose.
But, didn't DAT do that to us as well?
When you're a commit, the committed school assumes the kid is going to sign.
To pull an 11th hour switch is bush-league.
This is why I would rather a kid never commit in the first place, unless he is going to stay true to his commitment.
I would rather a kid take all 5 OV's and tell the schools that he is not going to give a verbal until NSD. I can respect that a lot more than a kid the commits and then decommits later.
