I agree, but I havent seen that much bashing to be honest
I love this kid, but anyone has to be puzzled by some of the throws lately
I saw a few people saying he should have left or we would have been better off with Wittek and I regret that I didnt call them out and say that unless they said it last December when he made his announcement they should just STFU now
I am fully aware of who and where Cutcliff coached, but how you came to the conclusion he was a part of winning Superbowl rings escapes me.
Yeah he did. He was the QB after Cuccia. Man...Wilson had some teams during that period.
Maybe Wittek is better than Barkley but Clarkson is foul for even saying it.
Clarkson is a 1979 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Los Angeles, CA, where he led the Mighty Mules to three Los Angeles City Championships with a 39-1 record during three seasons. Clarkson was named to the All-City teams during his junior and senior seasons, and was the All-City Player of the Year in 1978 after leading the state in passing yards and total offense. He later was a three-year starter for coach Jack Elway at San José State University, where he holds several passing records and was named to the Academic All-American teams in 1981 and 1982.
What is happiness? The feeling that power is growing, that resistance is overcome.--Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche
Ron Cuccia was a Northern League legend. Wilson was a dominant program back then. By the time I was at Eagle Rock in the early 80s, they were already on the downslide Not sure the reason for that.... I think they moved up from 3A to 4A after the Cuccia/Clarkson years...
I have know idea what your talken bout?
"It's what a brother would do for another brother"
Clarkson also said Matt Barkley was better than Matt Leinart. He did not knock Leinart, just pointing out that as good as Leinart was, Matty Trojan was even better.
Was it said in the same manner?
"Here are provided seats of meditative joy, where shall rise again the destined reign of Troy." Virgil
Yeah, would love to hear the context in which he said it. Not something I'd say about the QB I groomed to a shit ton of USC and PAC 12 records, but I could understand it if he's taking potential period. For me this year was still NC or bust, but shit could have been a whole hell of alot worse without Barkley excelling the last few years through the sanctions. But I've been on the Wittek bandwagon for a while now, and he might have more tools than not just Barkley, but all of the QBs we've put into the league lately. He has to yet the starting job first, but his cannon would work great for Marqise and Nelson next year.
Join the fight for YOUR liberty!
Eagle Rock, Franklin, and especially Licoln were victimized by Ron and his ole man. Some brutal beatings.
I went to Roosevelt but did graduate the same year as Ron. I had a lot of friends who played for the Mules during that era.
He was ***a*** link in the chain of their Super Bowl rings much like the high school physics teacher playing a role in one of their students going on to win the Nobel Prize in physics.
Matter-of-fact, Peyton STILL goes to visit Cutcliff to work out issues with his mechanics.
"The only guy for me to go see at that time was David Cutcliffe,'' Manning said. "He's a guy that has known more about my throwing motion and quarterback mechanics than anyone throughout my career.''
As for that going home part?
"It's kind of in some ways like going home,'' Manning said. "Like golfers (going) back to that swing coach (they) always knew.''
Manning's goal was to fine-tune his form and eventually work out for prospective NFL teams. Cutcliffe opened the Duke facilities, allowing Manning full access. But there was one caveat: Duke was soon entering spring practice, so Cutcliffe's first priority was to his team. Manning gushes with gratitude for his mentor's willingness to help.
I was simply dispelling the notion that just because a guy never played a position doesn't necessarily mean he can't coach it.
There's a reason Peyton Manning sought out Duke's David Cutcliffe when facing a career crossroads.
Garfield and Roosevelt had some really good teams in the early 80s... Do they still pack the stadium at ELACC when they play??
Even if Clarkson said this, we won't be able to tell until Wittek completes his first season as a starting quarterback, then we can compare that to Barkley's first year. Obviously Matt Barkley improved a ton from his freshman year to now, but I'm pretty confident that freshman year is good comparative year to look at because it shows you how good the quarterbacks are coming in. Comparing season after season, it gets easier to tell the caliber of the quarterback. Right now, Barkley vs. Wittek is an unfair comparison. However, he's definitely got an arm.
Matt seems pretty good to me if Max is better so be it..
Critics of Matt IMO cannot discredit the team leadership Matt provided during a difficult time for Trojan football. 2 mistakes early in the Oregon game followed up by 5 TDS and 480 yards passing. Like his 4th or 5th 400 yards plus passing in a game. Not perfect but certainly not less than outstanding IMO. Matt is not done yet.
I would like to see the full context from which the OP statement of Steve Clarkson was taken.
A strong arm is one measure of a QB but there are certainly others.
They don't pack it like they used to. Game has lost some of its luster. I work at ELAC. Both schools administrators moved the game to the coliseum for a short period and somehow since it moved back it hasn't been the same.
Yeah the game sells out every year. It was even moved to the Coliseum for a short period...but never took.
But remember, Barkely started as a freshman while Max will be in his third year when he starts with probably a much better team than Barkely had ( and definitely better WR's). I wouldn't be surprised if Max does better statistically than Matt when comparing their first seasons.
Love your poverty-pimp president, don't you? Your own democrats said he'd be bringing them drinks if he hadn't jumped into the divorce records of an Illini State opponent.
Potholes for us, Pensions for them
u sound like a hater, bruh-
Bitter Cons got their asses kicked because they put up a LyingRoboticKenDoll for President and a bunch of KnuckleDraggingMouthBreathingNeanderthals for Senate
So of course they immediately pull the Race Card they have had up their sleeves, just peeking out, for the last six years
