... anyone else hear this on ESPN radio? FWIW... both guys had lessons from Clarkson.
per some guys on the team: wittek > barkley in terms of arm strength.
Farmer told me that Wittek throws it so hard on those short passes that his hands get sore after practice at times.
I also had a friend who was a walk-on receiver at SC 2 years back. He said Scroggins easily threw the hardest/best ball, showed me the fingers to prove it.
He then quickly pointed out that it would be nice if he used a little more touch and had the other parts of the game down.
I think you see where I'm going with that anecdote. I hope Wittek is all-everything, and Cody too, but they need to prove they have more than arm strength.
boy, people sure like dumping on Barkley all over the place. I don't get it.
i agree. asked some of the guys on the team who they felt was taking over after barkley left next year, and the majority felt wittek was on top right now. said the same thing as everyone else on the board says about wittek being more accurate and having a stronger arm, but that kessler has all the intangibles you want in a qb. it's going to be interesting how this plays out. i'm excited for next year already.
Before we rush to judgement, did Clarkson actually say that Wittek IS better than Barkley, or did he merely say that Wittek could be better (or perhaps was better as a HS senior) or something?
Great. Maybe CLK will trust Wittek after the 6th or 7th game to open up the offense instead of the 8th or 9th game like he does Barkley.
I got nailed in the left shin by a Scroggins pass from about the 5 yard line During a game his senior season that one hopped and it hurt like a son of a bitch. He at times through the ball ridiculously hard. The one thing that has impressed me about Max Wittek is that he is developed touch over the past few years. Clay Helton is a very good quarterbacks coach.
Thank god for that athletic ability of yours, otherwise the ball might have missed you altogether!

The worst part about it is I was shooting video and had no clue that the ball was even going to hit me. It's always nice to at least have half a second warning.
So you admit to being clueless?
No knock against Barks...but I hope he's right.

I did that years ago. It's why I shake my head when you ask me for answers. Ha ha
Golfers aren't athletes.
Btw, clarkson was an idiot for saying anything. He is a relentless self promoter. Btw, never played quarterback. Lane kiffin develops quarterbacks very well.
Winning the academic award in the SEC is sort of like winning the special olympics. Even if you win, you are still a retard.
I think you should be thankful it didn't bounce a bit higher ....
I happen to like him.
Steve was a customer of mine when I owned my newsstand. I would always say hello and he always seemed stuck for an answer. Not real personable.
Objectively, MB may not be the best QB in the world. his arm might be just avg, he may not make the best descisions. But fuck all you haters out there, especially u trojans that are hating on trojans (and u can down vote the shit out of me, i could care less). Ppl forget how desperate we all felt when the NZAA hammered us, and Pete C. left us. We felt like chamelot was coming to an end. I remember that shitty feeling like it was yesterday,as if there was no hope, filled with frustration and anger.
MB could have transferred like a lot of those other guys did. BUT HE STUCK AROUND, the TRUE Trojan that that boy is. He was here to uplift the team, gave the coaching staff a lot to work with, and gave the fans and student body hope. He made USC folks feel good and that the NZAA cant keep us down. I will ALWAYS feel appreciative for that. He will earn his degree, and been a model USC football player, while doing what everyone has asked of him at school, and has done even more actually. This season is turning out to be a little shitty, but it would have been worse without him (and its the fucking media, not MB or the others, that pumped the hype, players got no control over that crap). He gave up a lot to come back bc he loves playing FB at USC, god bless him for it. As far as I am concerened, he is my favorite USC QB, for what he has meant to the school during these shitty times. The best qb? Maybe not, but my favorite. And I am riding with MB all the way to the ND game and the bowl game. When he is done, I will be thankful for his services of 4 years as he gets drafted to the NFL next year.
So phuck the people who are dumping on MB, MB sure does not deserve it.
I like you.
