@dpshow says USC will interview Jeff Tedford for OC position
Take it FWIW
I like it!
I think he is the only person Kiffin would allow to call plays without butting heads. This would be a great pickup.
Make a lot of sense given his history with Lane
I'd imagine he'll hold off to see if he gets a head coaching offer elsewhere first
Would be a great pick up, if theres one thing tedford knows its how to send QBs to the NFL.

I'd prefer that too. I don't want a situation like Carl smith or whatever his names was, then we ended up Bates.

Dan also said on the show- And that Kiffin has been told to sign 25 guys. Thinks that they will get sanctions reversed. All this was supposedly told to him by someone at SC
So, Tedford would take Monte's postion and Kiffin would give someone on staff the DC postion? It has been rumored in Nor Cal for months that if Tendford got fired he would end up at USC.
Tsk tsk tsk...they're reading twitter and passing it off as "sources." Cheebus, the media sucks donkey.
I'll believe when I see it. Last time I got excited about a potential OC, he psyched us out and stayed at his then current job.
I would think this would mean Helton is out, since tedford would likely be an OC and qb coach
Don't think he'd take over Monte's position, but another coache's position to become the OC and allow Lane to be a real HC. My guess would be that someone else takes over for Monte
I know Tedford would come to be the OC. I just meant he would take Monte's position on the staff, not the DC position. I won’t think Kiffin would fire Helton to hire Tedford, but maybe.
Does Helton know anything about TE's? They're being coached by the GA last I heard so that's a move he could make. Also I thought we were under the coach limit by 1?
Obviously getting ahead of myself but how would Helton leaving impact the recruiting class? If it even happens.
I like it! Bring him in
Fresno State connection
Im interested to see how Tedford would do as an OC without the pressure of being HC.
The only reason i see him keeping Maynard as their QB the last 2 seasons is to make his step bro Kennan Allen happy. I personally have not been impressed with Kal lately.
And what about Kennedy Polamalu? I thought he was in line to be "OC" he does have it in his job description?

"If this was a prize fight they'd call it off"- F ND!
I'm no expert but according to TOS-R, he's the recruiter for Max Browne, Vanderdoes, Hutchings and Davis. While the connections with him could be strong, his qb coach position only directly works with 1 of them (Browne), not sure how much impact it has on the others other than personal connections. Noted though, that others such as Vanderdoes and Hutchings also have Ed O (Vanderdoes) and Hazelton (Hutchings) listed as primary recruiters.

Like ss said, Tedford would be a great guy to have in the press box during games.
Winning the academic award in the SEC is sort of like winning the special olympics. Even if you win, you are still a retard.
Given the regression of MB, Helton could be the scapegoat, strawman, reason, etc....
IF reports are true and Lane will sign 25 kids, what would make anyone think he wouldn't sign one more coach?
