Looks like Stanford's might have been released accidentally last night. See link:
If true, kind of rough for the defending Pac 12 champs. You could make an argument that their last 6 games are against the 6 toughest opponents on the schedule (including Cal bc it's a rivalry game).
If that is indeed their schedule, I like that we get them late in the season, so we have time to gel as a team.
Any guesses on how our schedule shapes up?
I predict, outside of the Hawaii game, that we will not have another Thursday night game.
I also predict we go to Oregon State for our first Conference game.
We will have a favorable schedule, so good that folks around here might start talking about running the table. After all it is the off season and that's what we do, then the games start and back to reality.
"...including a rivalry game against USC that was a nationally televised showdown between two top-25 teams" So much fail here, lol.
"Here are provided seats of meditative joy, where shall rise again the destined reign of Troy." Virgil
How is there so much fail here? When they played they were both ranked in the top-25.
I bet we play in Corvallis on a thursday night.
Ok, let's bet a beer on it.
I like Sam Adams, by the way....
In 2015 USC plays Texas A&M. Johnny Football will be a senior or an NFL rookie. Hoping he's still at A&M that year.

Halloween falls on a Thursday this year. Just sayin'.
It's how you end the season, and this was posted well after we knew how the season ended for both...I read people on here always saying that teams are overrated because their supposed "wins against a quality opponent" was a fail at the end of the season.
But, most of all, I don't like how loosely the word "rival" is used, we have two...not the whole damn conference..

@ Oregon State
Thursday night on Halloween (sarcasm)
But still that roadie makes me nervous
Along with @ Arizona State who has Will Sutton coming back
"If this was a prize fight they'd call it off"- F ND!
Depending on who you ask, including folks from your demographic, Stanford, is considered USC's rival. In fact I have them slotted right after Notre Dame and Fugly, and ahead of Cal.
...And at the beginning of the season everyone thought Stanford was overrated when USC played up there. And both will be top-25 when the polls are released before the 2013 season.
That is some BS, the last time SC played Oregon St it was at Oregon St, should have been at WSU this year and at OSU next year.
Watch, to top it off, I bet Pac Commish Larry Dallas sets up the game in Corvallis to be SC's 1st conf game or the week after the trip to South Bend so he can go down to the Regal Begal and watch the game with Lonna & RF.
Honestly, if Scott was smart, he would give SC a bye before the ND game. Ditto that for Stanford. The conference commissioner should be doing all he can to help maximize Pac teams chances for wins in OOC games. ND already set up a bye week prior to the SC game.
I hear what you're saying..and I've stated numerous times that of all the programs in CFB around the country, I feel they are above and beyond the most impressive team in the country due to what they have accomplished with those academic standards, and the most limited recruiting pool of players in the country.
I'm also of the generation that remembers John McKay's strong feelings of dislike for them, due to Stanford's arrogance and especially for booing Lynn Swann and shouting racial slurs at him by their students.
IMO, a "rivalry" is not about who is beating you currently, how many times you play them, proximity, or the wins or losses...it's an emotional thing, a response that rather that rival is down, you must beat them and "hate" them, and it never wavers.
I'm worried about what they schedule on Sept 7th - probably a tough conf road game like at OSU. If a Thursday game shows up hope they bookend it with Sat byes.
Unreal, Arizona's schedule was seemingly leaked and we play them at home on OCT. 10th. That happens to be a thursday night.
I guess we get a few extra days of prep for ND. USC should be hosting ND on a thursday night if they have to play a thursday night game. Traffic going to be, well....

If that is indeed true, that's good, cuz ND has a bye on 10/12.
Edit: looks like it is true:

USC hosted ND in 2012...the game is in South Bend in 2013. And this game will not be on a Thursday night. NBC game.
Oregon's is released as well...where is SC's
SMH. Scott said every team had to host at least one thursday night game every 3 years. Haden tried to fight to make that a ND home game because it is on thanksgiving and would minimize traffic problems. Obviously, SC is playing in SB this year, so USC was probably hoping they could have their thursday night game in '14 in the Coliseum.
Guess I'll be missing a home game next year.
Sounds like a 4day weekend. :)
