Yes, congratulations to you both and, thankfully, she didn't 'ruin her life! (they do have good softball teams, though)
That's what I'm talking about KOBE.Sure the Hawkins family is proud of her as well, and you,you must hang around Mr.Hawkins some day probably be a bowl of laughs.
You must be very proud, FK. Glad her hard work came off. Here's to great academics and sporting achievement!
“Close tax loopholes that allow some of the truly wealthy to avoid paying their fair share,” Reagan vowed.
Holy cow, that's an impressive list. Congrats FK.

Congrats, no greater pride than that in ur kids achievements!
FK that is outstanding news! You must be on cloud 9 right now!
My daughter is only 9 and just finished her first year of softball. She played catcher and made all-stars. I let myself dream about her maybe getting a schollie one day. You've really made me feel like it could one day be a reality.
To slightly change the subject, I read an article some time back that talked about Women's sports in college. About how each sport has an associated max number of scholarships that it can hand out and that some sports (like lacrosse) usually have a lower turnout than others (like basketball and softball).
So, it said that to improve the odds of your daughter getting a scholarship, to have her choose one of these under-filled sports. So glad that your daughter could get a schollie in the sport she likes.
Congrats FK! It is a really exciting time for you and your DD. A blend of excitement and relief, no doubt. Me and my DD HATED the recruitment process. We were sooooo glad when it was over!
My DD is a college Junior and pitches for her D1 college. (3-0 against the SEC and 1-0 against ND!) She gave up on SC having a softball team in 9th grade. Oh well, maybe my granddaughter some day...

There's sooo much SoCal softball talent that SC could draw from, it really is a shame they don't field a team. Cali women pepper D1 rosters across the nation.
Best softball in the country is played in socal and its not close. USC would have a top five team from the first year if they chose to do so. Softball teams have 17 -20 players and only 11 scholies so theyove girls that have strong academics so they can use some money on that.
J(c, get her on a travel team. Little league is generally garbage for softball.
Winning the academic award in the SEC is sort of like winning the special olympics. Even if you win, you are still a retard.
Actually 12 schollies (Baseball is 11 or 11.2).
Since Softball is not a headcount sport, those 12 schollies get divided among the 17-20 girls on the team.
A superstar student athlete will receive significant academic money which means the school can use much less (or no) athletic money on that player, and give more to someone else. A marginal student who is a stud pitcher or power hitter costs alot of athletic money. Not too many get a full ride of athletic money. Most get a mix of academic and athletic money. The amount of athletic money is adjusted every year at most programs, based on performance. The academic money is there even if the girls quit the team.
The competition is fierce not just for playing time, but for that scholarship money. The non-headcount, non-revenue sport student athletes have it tough! In spite of that, there are many girls in SoCal (and every other state) chasing those rides.
My daughter (and i'm sure FK's daughter)) love softball and wouldn't have it any other way!
Congratulations FK to you and your daughter.
She sounds like a 5 Star to me.. Power speed and an arm? And the most important GRADES!!! Congrats this is definitely something to be very proud of
That's great news!
Congrats to you and your daughter, FK!
What a great achievement for your daughter and your entire family! Way to go.
Congrats FK you must be proud, we are glad for you!!
