Nick Saban switches injured recruit's scholarship to grayshirt
Posted: 8:00 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013
Nick Saban has asked one of Alabama to delay his enrollment or take a grayshirt.
This article must be a fake. Lane Kiffin is the only guy who would do this. It is ok for Saban to do this all the time.
Because it is different.
Only at ND would it be considered fake.
Time for an article about the NCAA causing students to have to "greyshirt" because they don't work diligently enough to clear them in the fall.
We did the same with DeVante Wilson. I don't see anything wrong with it being done. The guy tore his ACL, just like Wilson, and pretty much has no chance make an impact his first year. Why not save the start of your college ticker by waiting and getting healthier, good for both parties.
The thing Saban did well is communicate with him that it was going to be a possiblity prior to it being decided.
A bit different then delaying a recruit from January to May/June. Same eligibility is being used.

Wait a minute - gray is a color? Isn't it a shade of white? (like in shady) - or is it a tint of black? Quick, some one call Coach Bruich - we need an expert opinion!
this goes along with the WSJ report a couple years back on Saban and medical redshirts
Former Alabama football players say the school's No. 1-ranked football program has tried to gain a competitive edge by encouraging some underperforming players to quit the team for medical reasons, even in cases where the players are still healthy enough to play.
