Easy, not preparing your players is ALL on the coaching. Lack of execution is ALL on the coaching. Putting your players at a disadvantage on D schematically is ALL on the coaching. Getting out coached by Mora Jr is ALL on Lane Kiffin.
First win for baby blues in 6 seasons and only 2nd in 14. Sucks to lose, but it is only a game. always a proud Trojan whether they win or lose. Time to salvage things next week and beat ND!
Tommy, Rebel, and our newest rescue Harley!
Preparing the players is ALL on coaching, but just because they did not play well, doesn't mean they weren't prepared. Lack of execution by a star senior QB is not All on the coaching. Defense issues, yes I agree that the defensive play calling is all on Monte. Tell me though, what is different from the second half of last season where everything fell into place and the team played almost flawlessly for the second half of the season? Matt threw 2 horrible interceptions today and that is not a coaching issue when you are talking about a 4th year All-American. His decision making is also on him much more than the coaching staff.
Barkley threw too many passes to the wrong receivers or just poorly that were not catchable. He made a number of good throws too. Make better reads and don't throw bad passes to the other team and this game is flipped.
One more note....1st 14 points off turnovers...another 7 after a blocked punt....that is 21 of the 38 points all scored from inside the 35 yard line of SC. Maybe some credit also needs to go to the Bruins for playing a really good game. People here always hammer the coaches for everything and sometimes crap just happens even with good coaching.
Understood. But we'll never know - we haven't had the benefit of good coaching this season.

I respect your position refhater, but I disagree. The players have been poorly coached all year long. Why does CLK and staff need half the season to finally have his players play up to par? (last year). This year the players haven't played to potential yet. Chip Kelly has his floats ready from day 1, Saban too, even crazy Miles, oh and Mora Jr. Too many times the players have made mistakes, we can call them out too, I rather not because all the sunshine pumpers will get on us for criticizing them as well. This is not little league, only the winning team deserves orange slices and HI-C. Ultimately the coaching staff has to shoulder the blame.
I have been relegated to pulling a ruin and sec tactic. I will root for Oregon to trounce the ruins because we couldn't and to curb stomp whoever they face in the MNC, hopefully Alabama, to proclaim the greatness of the PAC because we sucked so bad this year.
What really sucks is to reflect on what was the best win of the season. I honestly can't name a game where I felt SC had played up to its capability. Frustrating and sad.
