You probably don't want to debate with pumpman. He typed up 40 posts about how James Cregg did a great job last year.
I agree with you on this.
But I'd argue that more important than a good or bad play call is the overall rhythm and flow of the game. Even if Kiffin calls good plays he can still ruin the overall flow of the offense.
For example, all the deep passes Kiffin called might have been good in terms of defensive matchups or on a yards-per-play basis, but I thought they hurted the team in terms of offensive consistency. This had the effect of destabilizing the team and damaging team morale in the long term. It also put Barkley in situations where he might be more pressured to make big plays, this increasing the mistakes he make.

I will say this, the teams play over this past season greatly reflected the teams leadership. Matt, Lane, Woods, TJ, all deserved to be scrutinized over the team flat out giving up in games and letting things 'fester'. It's unacceptable for teammates, players, or coaches to be airing dirty laundry out through the media. That's not leadership on any level and gives some insight on why the team was very uninspired at times.

Reading the self-righteous BS of a pompous know-it-all reminds me why I spend far less time here than I used to.
I try to be nice.
