I don't think UCLA would lose to Syracuse in a half empty stadium in New Jersey.
OK, you win bro. Congrats.
Hey at least we agree about this weekend.
Kobe are you concerned at all about the rain limiting USC's passing game?
How can you say we would be unbeaten with UCLA's schedule if Arizona is on both?
We would play Arizona at home.
Winning the academic award in the SEC is sort of like winning the special olympics. Even if you win, you are still a retard.
So we wouldnt have turned the ball over or had all those dumb penalties at home?
In the two home games since Arizona, we had 3 penalties for 25 yards against Oregon, and 4-30 against ASU.
Whether it's home cooking from the refs by overlooking certain things they don't on the road, or a more intense focus while at home, it's not a given that we would have had 13-113 yds of penalties assessed at home.
Highly doubtful home refs would've called that taunting penalty on TJ, either, which led to seven points...Nor would Arizona have had a rowdy crowd behind them, either.
After all, there's a reason why Zona is 0-3 on the road this year and 6-1 at home. Different team altogether when they travel.
Statistically speaking, at home we average 6.6 penalties for 56.8 yards and 2.8 turnovers per game. Away we average 11.2 penalties for 88.4 yards and 2.4 turnovers.
So, turnovers don't pay much difference, but we've definitely done appreciably better in terms of penalties when we are at home. The yards per penalty is higher at home (8.6 ypp home vs 7.9 away), likely due to fewer false starts and other such small penalties.
So what killed us more: The 13 penalties for 117 yards or the 5 turnovers (-4 turnover margin)?

"It's what a brother would do for another brother"
Lane owned his ass last year...and will again...you will be exposed Nov. 24....can't wait!
Student Deaths > Changing a Jersey /Walking out of a press conference/not giving injury reports/etc.......
Opinions are like you, Child, everybody has one.
What i was getting at is with a healthy Scott arizona scores beyond 10pts. They still may lose but the game isnt as lopsided. more than likely a shoot out. do you believe Nebraska loses with a healthy Burkhead? that game is completely different with him in...
It's a rivalry game, everything goes out the window!!! On paper SC should kill UCLA but then again that was the case against Stanford & Arizona on the road & look what happened! This game could go in many dif ways, I feel SC pulls out a close one with a late TD to put it away & win by 2 scores! I also wouldn't b a bit surprised if SC loses, it's been that type of yr so far
If your not 1st your last!
Wonder if ND will quit again this year..
Given how this year has gone, I don't see how anyone can confidently say "we would definitely be undefeated with UCLA's schedule." I mean, before the season we "knew" that we would be the higher ranked team in this game and that our national title hopes would be on the line in the Notre Dame game. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but I think we most likely slip up at least once
Agree. And UCLA traditionally plays SC tougher at the Rose Bowl, 2002 being the exception. There have been some horrible UCLA teams that good SC teams have failed to blow out there.
So they can win at Oklahoma, but beating Washington and Utah on the road isn't happening. Gotcha.
Not a good matchup for Briana.
When you say, "you would lose to Washington" I took it to mean ND.
I would say they are about equal. Lost in the raw numbers of the penalties is the fact that at least 2 of them kept Arizona scoring drives alive after the defense had stopped them on 3rd down.
Very True...plus an additional three of our drives were stalled due to the sting of penalties
The only way for a guarantee win in boxing is a knock out. Style points do not matter if your on your back for 10. This is a rivalry game anything can happen. What worries me most are the ref's. Usc has played poorly but the ref's have made it worse for them. This game should be over by the 4th qtr. Unless Matt goes for the turnover record. Which I doubt.
