If this is posted elsewhere I apologize. Just did not see it.
This kid wanted to be a Trojan last year and is another victim of the NCAA witch hunt. He is a good one.
??? Thought he had the chance and passed?
No offer from SC.
The spot was CHawk's to lose. And he took it.
Nope, he had an offer. He was the first CB offered in Cali, before C Hawk. Staff was pressing him to commit early and lock him up. It was well chronicled on this site. All the drama of who got offered on Junior day and who didn't.

UCLA is getting some good players.
With Goodman and Willis still on the board.
Mora is going to have to run off a bunch of payers. I believe their graduating class is around 16.
And Foreman...if Goodman or Willis or both don't sign.
Bet there won't be a front page yahoo article about each one of their transfers/'medical' retirements/etc.
Yeah, and half their class last year was DB's and S.
There wasn't last year when he did the same thing.
My understanding from Fresno was that SC was his leader, but he did not want to commit so early on and just commit for the sake of commiting. When Hawk jumped on as a CB and so did Ramsey, that was the end. It is aproduct of our scholarship limitations because of the witch hunt by the NCAA. But with Jalen and Hawk, I will take those two corners against anyone
And they love SC and are bonded already with their class
That was my understanding as well.....had the chance and passed, then the opportunity passed.
Dont blame the kid for wanting to look around
But right now if USC offers you and you want to be apart of this great school and program you better jump the gun and commit.
USC can't afford to wait around with our limited scholarships
"If this was a prize fight they'd call it off"- F ND!
Exactly. Great post. The problem for SC is that some of these commitments are genuine and others do it so they do not lose their spot.
Kiffin and the staff for all their other problems have managed the recruiting brilliantly. And that is no easy task.
The kid might be good, but he avoided all of the one on one matchups during the summer camp tour.
In his defense I do believe he was injured. At least that was the explanation
With two CB schollies I am thrilled we are getting Hawk and Jalen. Hawk competed with a broken finger. Not afraid of anything
I always found it curious that we continued to recruit Kelly (to some degree) and even Willis/Goodman and a few others but never really made a run at Johnson........
Nope, because its UCLA.
But if they close with Willis, Goodman, Fitts and whoever else is left on their board, they are bringing in close to 25.
Going to be very interesting to see how they find room oversigning by 8 to 10 players.
They might lose Jack and Morris.
Ramsey saw Craven and Goodman in person and was amaze how good Cravens was in person.
Exactly. This year UCLA and Washington are reaping the benefits of our scholarship limitations. I do believe Goodman, Willis, Fitts will all be Bruins come signing day. USC simply did not pusue these kids (except of course they did Fitts until what happened) and Johnson because they are after who they perceive to be bigger fish and bigger needs
From the one (and only source) source I have been friends with for over 20 years, I believe that if we take another CB I think the one that the SC coaches want more than any of them is Jermaine Kelly. Right now he is happy with Washington but for a long time he was waiting for an SC offer.
Depending on how things shake out, we may not have heard the last of him and I agree from watvhing him play that he is better than Johnson and Willis at corner. Rankings are only rankings. Mean nothing in three weeks

I think Morris for sure is gone
I watch way too much High School football and tape. Cravens is the best safety/athlete I have seen in ten years. And I am trying not to use hyperbole. I will be shocked if he is not starting from day one. His instincts, athleticism and football IQ will blow people away.
I also think Ramsey will start from day one with Hawk playing tons of nickle
And LM III will get tons of time behind Bailey and Cravens who I think are our strating safeties. Love this class. So excited
Foreman to UCLA now. That makes 21 commits for UCLA.
This is killing me because so many of these kid swould have ended up here. UCLA is getting some good ones. Flipped from Wisconsin after the coaching change.
