I think anything worse than 6-3 in conference is considered a failure. We should be competing to win the South considering we have Arizona and UCLA at home and don't play Oregon.

My expectations for next year are not that high. I would just like to see continued improvement and a team which fights til the bitter end. If SC beats ND and UCLA and gets to a decent bowl game, I would be thrilled.
I'll be happy if we go 9-4 in the regular season and then win our bowl game for a 10th win.
I also agree that we NEED to beat either fUCLA or Notre Dame (preferably both, but at least one).
We have 7 home games, so we need to win at least 6.
And like someone mentioned, we need to at least go 6-3 in conference.

Beat fucla and I'll be happy with 9 wins. Otherwise 10.
Beat fucla and nd then I'll be happy with 8 wins.
10 wins will be the absolute minimum to keep message board fans happy, believe that.
It would only take one win to make me happy...........win the Rose bowl!
Only a fool would not realize this...who else can we compare our situation to, save MSU? Even Bama didn't get hit with as many scholarship reductions as we did...9 less, as a matter of fact.
They floundered - and we're talking about a program and fans that are bat shit crazy about football, with nothing else for them to follow..

10 wins. Both the conference and OOC schedules next year are pretty soft. No reason to lose more than 3 games.
Regular season 10 wins.
Schedule plays out nicely and the early schedule should allow the new QB to get comfortable. If the pac-12 throws a road opener at OSU on Sept 7th then not sure how this could impact the rest of the season.
Agree with the schedule point. Stanford at home, Arizona at home, UCLA at home, Utah at home, miss Oregon, miss Washington, no HUGE names in OOC. I think 10 wins would be a fair mark to be "happy" at. I still contend, it all depends how we win/lose and to who, almost more so than the final record.
Only 1 victory would make me happy next season.
Just as long as it comes somewhere between January 1-7, 2014.
OOC soft? Two BCS top 25 teams including the current number one? Inludes a 13th game at Hawaii resulting in a one bye week season? That doesn't seem very soft to me.

11 regular season games.
Utah State had their best year ever and lost their coach. It's highly unlikely that they're as good next year. BC is terrible as is Hawaii. Obviously, Notre Dame will be a huge challenge.
USC went 10-2 last year and UCLA and Arizona bost lost their coaches. We all know how that worked out this year, we dropped 5 of our last 6. Our coach is back. I'm just saying, until proven otherwise they are a pretty good football team.
No Excuses,'' 11 x National Campions anyday, anytime ,anywhere.
Why would any USC fan be ok with losing more than 1 game next year??
I would think that at some some point all these top tier recruiting classes should develop into some top tier wins and on field excellence.
This is USC, and if Kiffin hadnt had so much recruiting success the last few years then I guess I wouldnt expect so much. Or maybe all those recruits with 4 or 5 stars really are not 4 or 5 stars in college.
So why lower expectations for Kiffin and USC????
You are the only one that makes sense. Why should we lower expectations at SC when we should be expecting an upper echelon team that competes for the Pac 12 championship every year. The current coaching staff will not deliver the victories it will take to put SC on top again.
Are you Hoffa, or that guy with a sig (for years) of Brady Quinn touching another guys' genitals? On that horrid green board?
Could be wrong, but I think this is Marc's BFF....lol...
Boi from Troy...Scott Schmidt? I kinda liked him...
Win the South
Go 10-3 or better during the regular season with a bowl win.
We have UCLA at home -- can't lose that game. Really want to beat ND but it will be difficult there earlier in the year.
Home: ARIZ -- Win, STAN -- Win, UCLA -- Win, UTAH -- Win, WSU -- Win.
Away: ASU -- ??, CAL -- Win, COLO -- Win, OSU -- ??
Miss: Washington, Oregon
Depends who we get as our conference away opener, probably in the slot between Hawaii and Utah State/BC. If its ASU or Oregon State (God forbid) then I don't like our chances in that game. And do we get an easier team before Stanford?
10 wins would be a solid number and believe many would be happy with!
Many will never be happy
Per the attached web-site, here is how our schedule is right now:
Thursday 08/29/13 at Hawaii Warriors (Aloha Stadium, Honolulu, HI)
Saturday 09/07/13 --- TBA ---
Saturday 09/14/13 Boston College Eagles (Los Angeles Mem. Coliseum, Los Angeles, CA)
Saturday 09/21/13 Utah State Aggies (Los Angeles Mem. Coliseum, Los Angeles, CA)
Saturday 09/28/13 --- TBA ---
Saturday 10/05/13 --- TBA ---
Saturday 10/12/13 --- TBA ---
Saturday 10/19/13 at Notre Dame Fighting Irish (Notre Dame Stadium, Notre Dame, IN)
Saturday 10/26/13 --- TBA ---
Saturday 11/02/13 --- TBA ---
Saturday 11/09/13 --- TBA ---
Saturday 11/16/13 --- TBA ---
Saturday 11/23/13 --- TBA ---
Saturday 11/30/13 --- TBA ---
Friday 12/06/13 Pac-12 Pac-12 Championship Game (Hosted by team with best Pac-12 record.)
If you count the "TBA's", there are only 10, meaning only one bye and almost a certainty that we do not have an in-season Thursday night game (YAY!). The Pac-12 has shown a propensity to have early conference games, so that 09/07 date could well be a conference game instead of a bye. Maybe Stanford for the early season hype?
If I had to guess, the 09/28 game will be a road game (coming off 2 straight at the Coli). Maybe Cal? I think we all figure the 11/30 game is the fUCLA game. Also, I checked and ND has a bye before our game.
The 2013 USC Trojans Football Schedule features games against Boston College, Notre Dame, Arizona State, California, Stanford, UCLA and Utah.
