Leonard Williams posted a few apology tweets this morning after apparently calling El Paso 'shitty' last night. He deleted the original tweet, but you can tell that's what he said by some of the replies to his apology tweets.
Whether El Paso is shitty or not, what do you think of LW tweeting it?
That being said, you're a guest, and you should act that way. Keep the shit talking to your circle of friends and away from the public.
It's weird, you wouldn't think it was one of the safest towns in America by looking at it.
bonehead move, don't do that as a representative of your school. Now as a representative of my school and among friends here, El Paso has a long way to go to rise to the level of "shitty". He was being very generous with his adjectives. El Paso wishes that they were just "shitty".
people are talking mess to LW on his twitter
I have only been in the El Paso Airport on my way to Dallas. The airport was modest at best. I am sure there are nicer parts of town. Maybe this will give the team an incentive for next year!
El Paso is America's toilet bowl. Not a smart move by LW, but he ain't lyin'...

Out here in El Paso. Shitty city but glad I can enjoy this moment wit the USC family

Seriously - you'd think LW would have learned from Tony Burnett's situation.
I can see why some coaches prohibit the players from tweeting.
iv'e been there,
at-least there are things to do there, and you don't have to travel 30minutes from place to place to get to a store like other places in the country, that being said.
LW is one of my favorite players, like others that make these kind of bone head moves, he'll learn that every decision has a consequence in this case, people talking mess to him on twitter.
Dumb move but hopefully they can use this to emphasize that what you say on Twitter is PUBLIC! I don't understand how this isn't common knowledge with the players and recruits!
It is easily the worst city over half a million people in America... Easily. Total pit. But I don't tweet that while I am there
Not good - wish these guys would learn to not tweet this negative stuff since some don't get it if it was meant as a joke.

Learn from mistakes
wrote the above, and i see the rest of the guys like TJ, Jabari today,
and Woods, Negrete yesterday showing that they appreciate the love their getting from the fans and people in El Paso.
WHO GIVES A SH*T? People are way to damn sensitive these days.
The point is, it was a dumb thing for him to do. All it does is create more controversy for this team, which is completely unnecessary. Is it stupid that it can be a problem? Yes. But he should know better, as the reality is it CAN be a problem.
USC 2013-2014 All Sports Head-to-Head Record: 257-112-2 (0.695)
My USC Football Attendance Streak (Home and Away): 48
Worse than Detroit?
Is it the most tactful thing to say? No. Should anybody be legitimately upset about what he said? FUCK NO.
LW should have just taken the standard bullshit athlete/celebrity approach and said his Twitter got hacked.

I don't care about the city of El Paso, but to me his comments kind of showed the entitlement attitude that many felt plagued this team all season. Now maybe he did just mean that the city is literally a dump, but I read into it as him being snobbish and thinking this team deserves better, when in reality they are where they are because of the way they played all year.
There are plenty of shitty bowls in nice cities.
I don't mind him speaking his mind. Truth is that the Freakin Sun Bowl is beneath USC. These players should be pissed that they are spending New Years eve in a shitty bowl, in a shitty city. As long as they translate that anger into being more focused in the offseason, and next years season. Team should rightfully be disappointed that they ended up there.
Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken
I don't know, it didn't come off that way to me, it might have if it had just been an "El Paso is shitty" comment. It's hilarious seeing such thin skinned people (EP natives) and the regular SC haters trying to make a story about anything. EP is shitty. The bowl is 1500 ft from mexico and right down the road from a hazmat dump site, what more can you say?
Also, is you haven't seen this yet, this was from a few years back, this is what happens in El Paso haha:
who cares what he said. it's a rough town that shares the border with one of the most violent border towns along the US Mexican border (Juarez). Drugs, human trafficking, gun fights, it sucks. it also either really hot, or really cold.
Big Leonard should just be happy it isn't summer time.....in which case El Paso is unbearable.
F I G H T O N
A Thousand times
I was talking to my dad about the bowl game being in El Paso and my mom walked by and the first thing she said was that her aunts and uncles used to call El Paso the armpit of Texas.
