Probably old news, but just read that Cody Kessler is staying put!
Good choice. He came to SC for the opportunity that he'll get, starting in the spring.
Would make no sense to give up on that, before the competition to replace Matt even starts.
Some would say that the QB decision is a formality at this point, but I'm not counting him out.
“Close tax loopholes that allow some of the truly wealthy to avoid paying their fair share,” Reagan vowed.
I want Kessler to win it.
Don't we all. Here's to Kessler for the 2013 USC starting QB
So glad to hear that. Would be way thin at QB if he transferred.
Nothing against Wittek but it's not like he solidified his spot in the bowl game. Smart decision by Kessler.
I think someone said he is going to make a decision after Fall Camp
He should have at least gotten a chance during the bowl game
It seems as if CLK didn't think CK could throw the ball with a headwind or tailwind. Maybe he is just planning on using him on days where there is no wind at all...............good luck with that one.
No trees were killed in the sending of this message, but a large number
of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.
I think it had more to do with bringing him in cold off the bench under those conditions. That would be hard for anyone to do. I was rooting for him to come in but in hindsight, probably better for CK and USC now.
Kessler in the mix will make all the QBs better.
This is big for depth. This team needs a leader at QB and for Wittek, he doesn't have it, IMO. If Kessler comes out and wins over other players and impresses, it's all his.
I just want a QB who can win us a game who isn't named Barkley. We still have January 1st, 2009 to hold onto I suppose. Thank you Mark Sanchez!
I really feel Kessler would be another big name QB here..Not that Wittek won't be, but I feel his strong arm might be as dangerous as it is helpful. It's going to be interesting to say the least this spring with Kessler/Wittek/Browne all competing. I certainly would not leave out Browne though.
If he impresses, I wouldn't be suprised. He has a long career ahead of him regardless
Maybe Al Roker can be the OC.
But we were cold as ice already
Any change up would have helped IMO and Kessler should have at least been put in for a change up.
The ND game of Wittek to the Sun Bowl was like night and day.
I was really optimistic and exciting to see how we would execute in the Sun Bowl but ugghhh that was rough.
Either way lets open up the competition and let the best man win.
after seeing the qb play after MB went down, (and maybe a bit before) who would not think they could start.
Going to be interesting with the new MB in there too......

I don't think he could have gotten any colder than Wittek that day.
I knew at halftime of the Disaster Bowl that Kessler was coming back. All due respect to Max, who is also a great kid from what I can tell. I bet that when CK walked into the locker room at halftime against Georgia Tech, the competitive side of his inner-dialogue said, "I got this. I'm gonna compete for and win this job".
Now more than ever I'm gunning for him. FIGHT ON CK!

That isn't old news for me - thanks for posting!

Between Cody and Max Browne, and the fact that MW didn't put a stranglehold on the position, Spring Ball will be wide open.
I think Cody has tremendous upside......maybe the best footwork, and he is a playmaker.
Watching the "11"...I don't think anyone will work harder than Max Browne.
Should be fun to watch.
