Where do you really expect USC to finish?
How about wining the south?
Absolutely win the south and make a run for the PAC. No reason we should not but we need major changes.
Except for the scholarship limitations the sanctions are behind USC. Other schools have unsuccessfully tried to use sanctions against the Trojans in recruiting.
With the right coaching this team has the talent to contend for championships for at least the next couple of years. They key word here is the "right" coaching.
Yes on winning the south - and could win the pac-12. If a 2011 type season then a BCS bowl would be in reach.
How will we win without an offense. I assume the defense will get back to normal. Plus, we are really shifting the majority of our talent on the roster to defense, so we will not be limited by the tackling problem of the past. Yet, how is this offense going to work? IMO, Lane needs to relinquish the OC responsibilities. I am surprised that he isn't at least considering it. This is a critical year for Lane.

I have no expectations for 2013. We could be really good or really bad. It depends on coaching and whether or not the talent we have plays up or down. I hope we do well, but at the present time there is no tangible evidence that we will do materially better than our 7-6 record of this last year.
The whole depth thing is way overblown.
Uga, LSU, and aTm all played under 75 this year.
i was expecting an NC under sanctions for the 2012 season. still am

I don't expect us to win the south. Where is our offense going to come from? Can Wittek do it? Putting all the pressure on Browne is insane.
I hope that Pat Haden sets a minimum number of wins at 10 for 2013. My concern is that Haden will give CLK as pass due to sanctions and starting a new QB. Yet, look at what Oregon, Stanford and Ucla did with a new QB.
No excuses. We win here at USC.
The goals should be at least a 10 win season and to win the south. Else, we need to make a change IMO.
Would any of you guys give Lane a pass on anything less?

Our offense is going to come from improved O-Line play.
I think 10 is a fair goal, but I give Kiffin a pass if we win less, with the loses being close and coming to teams not named UCLA. It all depends on how we win and lose. If he loses the team while losing games, that would be the nail for me.
Technically, we won the South last season, so no reason to think we cannot do it again.
Other teams are winning big with young QB's, so why can't we?
Hell, we went 9-4 in 2009 with a True Freshman QB, don't know why we couldn't match/beat that with a RS-Soph...
with narduzzi and a good OC, usc can win the NC.
We could easily be saying, "With the right talent this team could content for championsships for at least the next couple years. The key word is the 'right' talent." Not saying things have gone well on the coaching front but don't underestimate the power of a talented roster. It makes up for a multitude of sins.
Cry Havoc; and let slip the dogs of war!
There is absolutely no reason USC shouldn't win the South next year.
If USC fails to at least win the South then Kiffin is gone.
Having more defensive players does not alleviate the no-tackling issue, if you buy into that in the first place. O players are at risk too when they get tackled.
