??? sounds like you just need to complete the check. Doesn't say that it matters what the check unveils.
Maybe they're talking about the Lyles situation. Must have a check in hand from someone with a criminal background?

This doesnt mean what you think it does. It only matters if the conviction is for something related to the job duties. If it is for something like grand theft auto or pimping or something else unrelated to the position, then the UO may not descriminate against the person for that.
I write and negotiate employment contracts for a living right now so yeah... that phrasing I doubt will turn up anything that would eliminate a potential coach from the position... but i would laugh my azz off if it did!
