They are currently ranked in the top 25 and they are on our schedule next season. Anybody know if they are returning their core players?
Their Qb Chuckie Keeton is coming back. Only a soph this year.
Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken
Very good defense.
Their QB who was a Sophomore this season was very solid. (27 TD 9INT 3,144yds)
They lose their top runningback who ran for 1,277yards 12TD.
Keeton (the QB) also ran for 500+ yards and 7TD's so hopefully we can figure that out next year.
Leading receiver was the runningback with 600+ yards, very spread attack..Over 9 guys had 100+ yards receiving however top top 5 or 6 were seniors.
Their top two tacklers return, both juniors, maybe one opts to the NFL but doubtful.
39 team sacks
12INT's with 5 of them going to a senior.
Played a weak schedule:
"Good wins"- Louisiana Tech in OT
San Jose State?
Utah in OT? Thats about it.
Don't sleep on Utah State. I'm telling you, I know their competition wasn't great, but I think they'll give us all we can handle for 3 quarters.
Join the fight for YOUR liberty!
Their top RB (who was also their top WR) will be gone next year. In fact, their top 5 WR are all gone next year.
They play above their heads and have an up and coming head coach who is not afraid to take chances.
And that's a good thing, because I chose them in my college bowl pick 'em challenge.
@ home no less.
Utah St will beat you at their place (BYU, Utah), but not sure I've ever heard them winning a big game on the road. They came close against Auburn last year, but couldn't do it.
I'm sure if we play within ourselves we will be fine.
F I G H T O N
It might not look like Todd Marinovich's first home game at USC (we bombed Utah St 66-something), but we will be okay.
When they beat Utah in OT I thought they looked real good but at the time we all thought Utah would have a pulse this year. They certainly play very tough.
Someone was touting their DC on here.
I think their coach is very good. Fortunately we won't have to face him next year (unless it's in the Rose Bowl) -- he's off to Wisconsin.
Since when are we afraid of Utah St. beating us at home....this is sad...lol
Just saw this. Not like I was worried about USU before, but I am nearly 100% sure we win this game easily.
Since we couldn't handle Arizona or UCLA on the road this year... or Notre Dame or Oregon at home this year.
They don't have a head coach now.
Or staff according to the reports I read. Seems the HC wanted to take his entire staff to Wisconsin with him. Just became the mother of all trap games.
Maybe we'll get lucky and they hire Slick Rick
They play BC the week before, and a PAC-12 team the week after, if it is Stanford or someone good maybe, if it is Wash St or Colorado not really a trap game.
I went the opposite direction with the news. What I thought was the mother of all trap games is now looking better. The coach(s) that had them playing great football will be gone and a whole new staff will be in place. Makes it seem easier with transitional issues.
The way we played this season, EVERY game was a trap game!
That is what it felt like. I am longing for 2008 when we put teams away. There was not a lot of relaxing in the second half of games this season! Here's hoping to a strong 2013.
