has been a Major disappointment this season,is it because of scheme or youthfulness(Soph.) or is this guy a ''Bust''? with that being said, our we recruiting any 4-5* LB's? we seem to have the trenches covered and addressed but what about the run stoppers and the gap fillers
when our defense is at it's best ,it's because of our great LB'ers can't wait too see the 'Ole SC defense again, one thing and one common thread to ourn success ,is we have always had a great if not dominant defense.
No Excuses,'' 11 x National Campions anyday, anytime ,anywhere.
he needs to stop being pushed around like a rag doll ,like he was saturday.
He was hurt for a couple of games - is his fully healthy and did that 1 month off affect his reaction time?
He still hasn't had a full year. Last yr he split reps with gallipo and this year Hayes moves inside.
It's possible that he's hitting a Sophomore slump. He didn't get RS last year, so he didn't get that time to grow physically from the strength and conditioning program. So, maybe he's starting to wear out....
He was obviously good enough to start as a True Freshman, so he's gotta be pretty good. Just because he's not lighting up the stat sheet this season does not mean he is a bust.
Calm down, he's had a bad couple of games. When he came back from his injury he was very solid in the middle ,racking up numerous tackles. He'll bounce back.
I believe he still led the team in tackles for the game. Dawson has two problems: 1) he is lined up out of position most of the time (coaching) and 2) he is only a true sophomore. He should have red shirted a year and learned the position (coaching decision).
Don't get me wrong, I still think CLFK is the right guy, but we may need to rethink playing too many true freshman an stay the course of letting them grow and learn for a year.

up vote for you. Good call.
I think operating with the 75 scholarship limit is going to make CLK play younger kids earlier than planned. I bet only a few kids get RS because of this. It may make for sloppy play by these young kids, but it will make them grow up quicker.
i would just wrap it up to a soph slump. All it is.
I don't buy the soph slump excuse.
Dawson was fortunate to be behind Galippo, who was a beat up player whose physical skills had deteriorated due to injury. It wasn't like Dawson was a Cushing type that you had to put on the field because he was way ahead of the curve physically and skill wise. it's not his fault the talent level on the depth chart when he came in wasn't great and that he may have been pressed into action early, but that was the reality of the situation.
I'm not alone in thinking this guy disappears and is not a force out there. He's not strong at the point of impact, does not diagnose well, doesn't appear to have great hands or possess great instincts, and just doesn't stand out at all. Its not his fault Kiffin gave him #55, but he isn't that caliber of player by any means and 9 games into year two is enough time for that to be glaringly apparent. Some blame can be placed on the scheme as well, but that definitely isn't the only issue.
He is still only a true soph, so he has two more years and a few games this year to improve. I hope he does for his own sake and of the sake of the defense. In my opinion he's not a truly special player and we shouldn't expect him to beak out. Fortunately we have Bailey and Pullard flanking him, but our LB corp isn't all that physically imposing.
Lifetimegame, you are currently serving a ban, and this site does not allow sock puppets. Do it again and LTG will serve a ban longer than the current 2 week suspension.
led the team in tackles.
That's what a MLB is supposed to do.
