Look, every board has its resident "optimist", if that's what you wanna call them. They're often new to recruiting and aren't completely in tune with reality. To use those fans as a representation of an entire fanbase is just as delusional as the "optimist" you're quoting. I know that most posters at Duck Territory are reasonable and level-headed. There are exceptions, but aren't there on every board?

And, oh by the way, they are constantly making bold predictions about how the ducks are going to run SC into the ground, kick SC's ass, etc, and, my personal favorite, how SC's time has passed.
You and your fellow rational ducks are a welcome exception, and there are posters from other schools who are regulars on this board and who do very well here, so it's not like this board is hostile to outsiders if they act like adults. We have domers, a buckeye, LSU and Bama fans who give respect and get treated with respect.
But with the exceptions noted above and probably one or two more that I can't remember, the duck fans who come here are the most delusional and idiotic fanbase in all of CFB, and contribute nothing to the discussion except getting roasted once they expose their ignorance and immaturity.
They come into our house, take a shit on the living room floor and wonder why we don't like them.
All of that said, I have no problem with you or the other rational duck fans who are adult and civil and want to have actual intelligent conversations about CFB. Smart people from other teams make this board a better place.
And there seems to be a recent influx of intelligent duck fans, which is a good sign. That's why I said 95% of your fans are delusional idiots instead of 99%, as we've been getting increased signs of intelligent life on planet duck lately.
So please drop by regularly along with 97, lefty, jviv and brem. People here will realize you guys are fine and treat you well. Just leave all of the delusional idiots back at Multnomah Falls.

Not directing this at you, but perhaps we'd have more quality posters if there wasn't so much hatred spewed at their fanbase. I've seen guys chastised without them even being controversial.

You're missing the point of my previous three posts about this, my friend.
Your experiences with duck posters are what they are, and that's all good.
But I remember the good duck posters precisely because they are so few and far between in my experience, so they are easy to remember. And I want to remember the good guys, as I like interacting with smart fans of other teams. That makes for a more interesting board.
I have no desire to interact with the idiots, derelicts, or delusional lunatics, so I try to forget their names and not give them the respect or dignity of remembering them individually. I think of them en masse- like a cesspool. Once in a while, one of the turds like Keep on Ducking pops back up and their name will stick in my brain for a while, but I don't want to remember the bad posters and I will eventually forget the ones that temporarily pop up from time to time.

I give every person a good amount of rope. What they do with it is their choice. In my experience, with the exceptions noted in the earlier post (and probably a few others who I have forgotten) most of the duck fans have hung themselves with that rope.
