ESPN has moved LSU to number one and dropped USC to number two and Alabama to number three. Oregon moved up to number four.

My guess is that with Arkansas now in turmoil, they feel LSU has an easier path now. I really hate when schedule is accounted for in someone's pre-season poll, as then it simply becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and ranking teams who will end up with good records based on weak schedules, and not a true determination of a team's overall strength.

I wish I was a CFB voter!
Towson? North Texas? Idaho? Unless LSU obliterated them 124 to (-)5, then I would drop them a spot in my poll just for booking that game!
I'd much rather have SC sit at #2 all season long. Top 2 gets into the NC Game. Let LSU have the pressure all season long to stay #1.

Nah, we beat a weak pac-12 opponent and dropped, while they lost to a tough SEC opponent and climbed.

Fine by me; nobody's gone wire to wire #1 since we did it in 04, so I'd rather avoid any possible jinx and start second.
