Nwosu is USC's first commit since Ed Orgeron took over as head coach
HARBOR CITY, Calif. Narbonne S Uchenna Nwosu (6-2.5, 200) is the latest commitment for the Trojans and first since Ed Orgeron took over as the head coach.
"I actually just called the coaches about 30 minutes ago," said Nwosu. "Playing close to home and playing for USC is like living out a dream," Nwosu said. "I grew up right down the street from USC and have always wanted to go there. Their strong academics was a strong factor in my decision, so was the coaching staff. I had to jump on the offer from SC. Not many get an opportunity to go to such a great school for free.
"I was offered on the third and waited until today to commit because I wanted to talk things over with my family, coaches and those close to me, so I knew I was making the right decision....and I have no doubt that I did."
Nwosu said USC has some specific plans for how they plan on using him him.
"They want to use me for blitzing, pass coverage and stuff like that at safety," said Nwosu. "That all sounds good to me, too."
