My hope was that Monte would retire into Heritage Hall with an ambassador position. He's fun to be around. He's just lost it a bit in coaching. Kids would benefit from being around him.

Monte Kiffin was the escape goat for a team that really lacks the mindset and smarts to grasp too many defensive concepts. Just like Bill Belichick always says, he never drafts dumb players. Neither should USC.
Hawkins, is the right type of player USC needs, and until they do the work Stanford does and get the smart athletes they will continue to be a 7-5 team.
USC will never get the Athletes the SEC schools get, so work smarter not harder.
