That is very impressive. If I had to guess, I would say that most schools could not top the geographic diversity of our commits and student athletes. Ours are from all over.

I would think schools from less talented areas get the majority of their players from out of state. Places like Nebraska, Notre Dame, and Oregon come to mind.

I think it is tough only if you want to maintain the pipelines to some of the big out of state recruiting grounds.
Had we targeted mainly CA kids, I feel we still would have had a top-5 class.
The worst part about missing out on local or CA kids is that they go to our direct competition. We end up playing against most of them every year.
Those out of state kids we may never see again.

Good points. Pick your poison: miss out on OOS kids and pipelines or leave the homeland vulnerable. CLK and staff have made their choice. Let's hope that we have superior talent evaluation and better player development than our PAC-12 rivals to mitigate the problems you pointed out. Thanks, NCAA. 2015 can't get here fast enough.
