Torrodney Prevot Commits To USC

Houston (Tex.) DE Torrodney Prevot (6-4, 205) from Taylor High committed to USC on Friday and decided to his commitment public today.

"I committed on Friday because I just felt it was time, and it Was Coach O's birthday," said Prevot. "I visited in June and just love everything about the school. It's a beautiful place, the coaching staff is great and USC has everything I'm looking for in a school."

Prevot was going to announce last night late in the evening, but a Trojan commit advised him to wait until today.

"Nobody commits at 11 p.m.," said Massington. "I told him to wait until today to announce."

When Prevot made the call to the USC coaching staff, he was somewhat surprised by their reaction.

"They were actually more blown away than I envisioned," Prevot said. "Everything was real cool, they said they really loved me and it was also Coach (Ed) Orgeron's birthday, so he was pretty happy."

There hasn't been as much talk about Prevot among USC fans as their has other prospects, but the coaching staff made sure some of the USC commits did all they could to help their efforts to land him.

"Eldridge, Jalen Ramsey, Eddie Vanderdoes, Kenny Bigelow and others all recruited hard for USC," he said.

Prevot told us his commitment to USC is solid, but he also said he will take a few official visits.

"I don't know where I'll visit yet, other than USC," said Prevot. "But I will take a couple of visits and the USC coaching staff is fine if I take a few visits.

Now that USC has its 18th commitment for the 2013 class, are the Trojans done?
