One of the headlining days in USC recruiting is junior day. And today the Trojans hosted the elite of California and beyond.
Smallwood said he may take other trips but considers himself a solid commit.
One of today's visitors added an offer from USC and wasted no time making his choice known.
The 6-foot-1, 280-pound defensive tackle Tashon Smallwood was mentioned throughout the day to be on 'commit watch' with a Trojan offer. He left Los Angeles today letting the college football world know where he wanted to play ball.
"It just seemed like the right fit for me and I'm happy to be a Trojan," Smallwood said. "Coach O (Ed Orgeron) said he couldn't even eat until I made my decision so I let him know I was a Trojan."
The three-star recruit and his family grew up fans of the Trojan family, thus the commitment was no surprise.
His teammate, and fellow top recruit, Michiah Quick was also offered by the Trojans and named them in his top five following the offer.
When asked if Smallwood would take other visits, he left that door open.
"Yeah I might, but just to chill with 'DBGuru' (Tony Perry), but if they ask me anything about me going there my answer is I'm a Trojan."
Smallwood is the nation's No. 287 overall player per the 247Composite.
