LaRue Explains Tweet About Oregon

Sebastian LaRue

Is Sebastian LaRue interested in an offer from the Ducks?

Chris Swanson
    • He has a funny way of making it feel like USC is his second choice, or that he's only committed because Oregon hasn't offered. I respect his choice to be a Trojan, and he may turn out to be a great one, but I am becoming less of a fan everyday. As always, fight on.

    • What is a "fan of Nike"?

Is that a new name for Oregon's football team?

    • Nothing against Larue. If he ends up in C&G great if not best of luck at Nike.

If there is one we can "afford" to lose its Larue.

    • My feelings wont be hurt if he decides to leave. I think we have other needs that his spot can fill

    • He was "iffy" from the start and was never a very enthusiastic recruit.

    • I respect the kid, but I will just go ahead and say it : I hope he does not come to USC.

I love my school, and I hope that all that comes WANTS to be at USC. Especially in light of the fact that there are MANY kids who would love to come here but cannot for money reasons (e.g. non athletes), grades, or there are just not enuff schollie spots. I would gladly take a less touted player who WANTS to be here. I have seen enough of this kid now to say that I am not a fan.
I read what Rodgers, Biggs, Eddie, E. Mass etc have to say, those are the dudes I want. I dont feel he appreciates the offer and there are so many less fortunate kids who would love his spot.
So, move on, and Fight On!

    • I feel like he will be a Markeith Ambles type honestly.

Well said! And considering that right now we have 4 WR's committed, would it be a devastating loss to lose 1 WR?
That would allow us to sign one more DB, which we sorely need!

    • He doesn't need to explain it.

    • Seems like everytime LaRue mentions something in regards to another team, ex: Washington State and Oregon he's trying to backtrack to make it sound like it was more than people are thinking. When you compare LaRue to Isaac you can easily tell who truly wants to be a Trojan. While LaRue is telling reporters that he would be highly interested in going to Oregon if he was offered Isaac is telling reporters that no one not named USC is allowed in his house because USC is the only school that he committed too. Writing is on the wall that it sounds like LaRue is using the USC commitment as leverage in hopes of getting offers that he truly wants. I could be wrong and hope that I am wrong because I want to see this class hold strong but from reading all the other kids comments on in homes and school visits LaRue is the one that doesn't seem too thrilled.

Your reaction may be a little strong. I don't have any insider info on his recruitment but I do get the sense that the coaches may have backed off on his recruitment (or maybe SL is baking off his commitment). Everything that I have read by SL indicates that he WANTS to be at SC but may be on the outside looking in. I think you may be overly critical here against a kid who probably does want to come to USC but may be a scholarship reduction causality. At least give a kid who is publicly committed to USC the benefit of the doubt until something changes, this all feels like contingency planning and waiting and hoping a spot is open on signing day. Again, I don't know the details but a more reserved approach about this kid may be warranted.

But he has always been doing this shit. Remember when he sent out that tweet that said something like "VHIII and I are going to the same school, it may be USC it may not"? At least, I'm pretty sure that was LaRue. He's been suggesting that his commitment is soft basically ever since he committed, and especially with our scholarship limitations, I don't see why the coaches would put up with that.

    • If he WANTS to be a Trojan, great. If not, best of luck unless you're playing for the opponent.
