Kiffin signed a small class that's large on quality
Fight On 247 grades USC's 2013 recruiting class
real nice analysis. i agree the one glaring issue was the DL not the quality as BKB is legit, but we needed bodies.
"Coach Kiffin talked about not reaching for lower ranked prospects in this class, but this would have been a spot to do just that. Teams that have better offensive lines than USC’s took lower ranked prospects, so why don’t the Trojans consider it?"
How are all those top 10 ranked classes translating into success for Kiffin now?? They are not and since he is not a good coach overall, imagine how bad USC would be if they really had to get the most out of kids that dont have ALL the 5* 4* upside??
Exactly, Chris. They also stopped going hard after Desmond Harrison after his visit.
They also didn't have backup plans for the D-line.
Even if the class seems full, rule in recruiting: YOU NEVER STOP RECRUITING! Kiffin should know by now to explect defectors, and you can't slack in sanctioned times.
To me, there's no excuse for coming up short on numbers? You mean to tell me USC could not pull other four star players had they not stoppped recruiting because they thought their guys would stay committed and full the class?
Nice job on the grading. I agree, good class, but it definitely suffers with lack of numbers, and to me, there's no excuse to come up short. We needed D-linemen, and Kiffin went for the homerun and struck out, when he should have been able to bunt over and single at least two other linemen home.
